10 great things that happened for urban cycling this year
However hard it may be to admit, summer holidays are kinda over – at least on the side of the world I’m biking in. I like to think that, in part thanks to Donkey Republic’s bike rental platform, more people explored new places from the saddle this year. Most importantly, however, I hope more people went home from their holidays thinking “How cool is this casual cycling thing!? I want to do it again”.

Food & Flea markets bike tour – Barcelona edition
One of my favourite things to do, when I’m in a new city, is to explore their local markets – be they for food, antiques, art or vintage clothes. I usually save one day to do just that, and it will come as no surprise that my approach is to rent a bike and wander around on a quest for the best bargains and weirdest souvenirs.

The green, green grass of Barcelona | green bike tour
Let’s be honest about something: Barcelona is jam-packed and crazy most of the time, which makes it vibrant and exciting, but also a bit tiring. Still, with a little bit of help, you can easily find hidden oases of nature, peace and quiet – they’re everywhere, just like the bikes! As a proof, I made this one-day Barcelona green bike tour through several of the city’s nature pockets, which will turn you into the most zen traveller in the Catalan capital. Be warned, there is a bit of uphill cycling included in this route, and all the biking accounts for between 1 1/2 and 2 hours of the green bike tour day. So here it comes:

See Copenhagen through its people’s eyes
It was on a miracle of a day back in October that Rasmus from Guide Catch and I met. I’m calling it a miracle because it had rained all week and all morning, so an outdoor literary tour of Copenhagen – by bike, no less – needed a serious stroke of luck to turn out well. But oh, how it did!

The 5 Best Cycling Cities in the World
You’re being sustainable. You’re enjoying the great outdoors. You’re being active. You’re spinning those wheels like it’s nobody’s business. However, do you ever find yourself cycling around a city, feeling like you just don’t belong? Awkward, out of place, and white knuckled in fear of getting hit by a car?

Why you should visit Barcelona in February
The new year kick-off is meant to bring out the best in us: another chance to commit to a fresh list of resolutions, right? Everything seems to be in order – you even bought an office plant and placed it in the right spot, as your source of productivity and inspiration at work. Yet you can’t seem to shake off the cold idle air, and the melancholy of the long gone holidays is not helping out either. Your daily filtered newsfeed reminds you that, by February, your energy level reaches its lowest point and, ironically enough, you’re recommended to get plenty of sun, rest and the usual mix of healthy food and exercise. Just when you’re on the brink of post-holiday stress disorder, it hits you:
