It has been a crazy 2017 for Donkey Republic. Around the time that 2016 clicked over to 2017 the masterminds in the Donkey machine were orchestrating a European domination plan for the year.

After a somewhat exhausting chase for finding our global Donkey bike ambassador in spring 2017, and with a small change of plans we put our hooves on two in one. For the care, creativity and aesthetics behind each project and for the fun personalities on each side of the camera.

As a city dweller anywhere in the world, it’s likely you’ve noticed some new wheels rolling into town in the past year. In reviewing Robert Kanigel’s biography of renowned author and urbanist Jane Jacobs, Eyes on the Street, Toronto Star’s Edward Keenan epitomized one of Jacobs’ most important theses: in order to understand what works and what doesn’t in city life, “first direct your eyes to the street.” In the same vein, to figure out the future of city life, there needs to be attention paid to what is happening on the streets.

As the first capital in the world, Copenhagen plans to be carbon neutral by 2025. The city is most famous for its cycling culture but there is so much more to sustainability in the Danish capital both behind the scenes and on the surface. Modern architecture pieces and business innovations are planned with a green mindset while recycling and sustainability is part of the everyday life from a very young age.
