Meet Big Mike: A Birthday Surprise on Two Wheels

Every Donkey has a name. It’s part of the fun - spotting Olive, Thunder, or Peach waiting on the corner, ready to take you where you need to go. But a few months ago, one Donkey in our fleet got a very special new name.

It all started when we received a message from one of our riders. Her best friend’s birthday was coming up, and she wanted to pull off something unforgettable. That best friend is Big Mike, a loyal Donkey Republic rider who hops on our bikes whenever he gets the chance.

Her idea was simple but brilliant: could we rename a Donkey bike in his honor? How could we say no to that?

So we picked out a Donkey, gave it a brand-new identity, and waited for the big moment. On the day of the surprise, Big Mike was hanging out in the park with his friends, completely unaware. Then we rolled in, pedaling right up to him on a Donkey proudly renamed Big Mike.
