Our story

We have come a long way, step by step

Donkey milestones

2012

Everything started in 2012, when our cofounder Erdem Ovacik shared a room with a friend in Copenhagen, Denmark. While seeing his roomate putting a few bikes out around the city, so his friends could share when in need. He put combination locks on them, so that people wouldn’t have to exchange keys, but only know a code.

2014

In 2014, Donkey Republic was created with this idea: Creating an wireless lock and an innovative bike-sharing system in Copenhagen. Since then, we have helped millions of people worldwide making green and sustainable choices when it comes to transportation and reaching their full potential through our modern and intuitive bike-sharing solution.

2021

At some point, Donkey will be the most accessible and reliable mode of transportation in our everyday lives. In May 2021, Donkey Republic hit a big milestone and started trading on Nasdaq First North.

Today...
